The Design Issue

Two AI companies launched visual tools in the same week. Claude Design. ChatGPT Images 2.0. The era of needing a designer is officially over — if you know how to direct AI.

A note from Nadia

This week something shifted for me personally.

I launched Issue 001, posted on LinkedIn, wrote on Substack, and for the first time recorded myself talking to camera — not publicly, just to 50 women in my close friends on Instagram. I was nervous. My breath stopped. But I pressed record anyway.

The responses reminded me why I built MetaHers. Rania said Issue 001 felt "so me." Emna opened Claude for the first time after reading it. Amel — a woman who is incredible on camera — simply told me: just do it.

This week I also discovered what ChatGPT Images 2.0 can do. I took a selfie in my car. I typed one prompt. I came back to a studio portrait. Then I built an entire 8-panel Instagram carousel for Signal using just a conversation. No designer. No brief. No budget.

This is The Design Issue. The timing could not be more perfect.

AI & Design

Claude Design launches — Figma loses 7% in a day

Anthropic launched Claude Design on April 17, allowing anyone to create prototypes, slide decks, one-pagers, and full brand systems using plain language prompts. Powered by Claude Opus 4.7. Available now on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Figma's stock dropped 7.28% on the same day. Three days before launch, Anthropic's Chief Product Officer quietly resigned from Figma's board.

Why it matters

For the first time, a woman with no design background can build a brand-quality visual identity in a single conversation. You do not need a designer. You need a clear brief and the confidence to direct.

AI & Productivity

NotebookLM turns your documents into a podcast — and I used it for Signal

Google's NotebookLM is a source-grounded AI research tool powered by Gemini. It uses RAG — Retrieval Augmented Generation — which means it only works with the data you provide. No hallucinations. No going off-topic. No pulling from the general internet. Upload PDFs, Google Docs, URLs, YouTube videos, or audio files, and have a conversation with all of it at once. Its Audio Overview feature transforms your documents into a podcast-style discussion between two AI hosts.

Why it matters

I use NotebookLM to generate the MetaHers Signal audio and video versions. I upload each issue, and it produces a podcast-style overview I post to YouTube weekly. Issue 001 is already live — link below. Unlike general AI tools that can drift or hallucinate, NotebookLM stays strictly inside what you give it. For content creators, coaches, and founders building knowledge businesses, this is one of the most trustworthy AI tools available. Find it and more in the MetaHers AI Toolkit.

Business & Finance

Anthropic is now valued at $800 billion

Investors have approached Anthropic with offers valuing the company at $800 billion — more than double its $380 billion valuation from just two months ago. The company is in early talks with Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Morgan Stanley about an IPO targeting October 2026, aiming to raise more than $60 billion. Anthropic now captures 37% of all enterprise AI spending, ahead of OpenAI's 33%.

Why it matters

The tools you use daily to run your business — Claude, Claude Code, now Claude Design — are at the centre of what could be the second largest IPO in tech history. Understanding the company behind your tools is understanding where AI is going.

Commerce & AI

Visa launches AI agents that shop on your behalf

Visa introduced Intelligent Commerce Connect — a platform enabling AI agents to browse, select, and pay for goods on behalf of users, with tokenisation, authentication, and spend controls built in. Early pilots include integrations with fintech systems. AI-driven purchasing is no longer theoretical.

Why it matters

Your AI will soon have a credit card. The women who understand agentic commerce now will be the ones building the businesses that serve that future. Start thinking about how your offer fits into a world where AI is the buyer.

AI & The Week That Was

OpenAI launched three products in three days — here's what you need to know

This was OpenAI's biggest week ever. Three launches in three days — each one significant on its own. Together, they signal something bigger: the pace of AI is not slowing down. It is accelerating.

Tuesday · April 21

ChatGPT Images 2.0

The model that thinks before it draws. Pixel-perfect text rendering, studio-quality portraits from a phone selfie, full brand campaigns from a single prompt. Available to all ChatGPT users.

Wednesday · April 22

Workspace Agents

Shared AI agents that handle complex, long-running workflows across your tools — pulling context from docs, email, chats, and code, taking approved actions in Slack, updating systems, creating documents. Research preview for Business, Enterprise, Edu, and Teachers plans only.

Thursday · April 23

GPT-5.5

OpenAI's smartest model yet. Give it a messy, multi-part task and it plans, uses tools, checks its own work, navigates ambiguity, and keeps going until it's done. More intelligent and more token-efficient than GPT-5.4.

Why it matters

Three launches in 72 hours from one company. The women who stay informed stay ahead. Worth noting: Workspace Agents are currently exclusive to paid business and enterprise plans. 02 · Tool of the Week

ChatGPT Images 2.0

The AI that turns a phone selfie into a studio portrait — and a brief into a full brand campaign.

Explore Tool →

What it is

ChatGPT Images 2.0 is OpenAI's most advanced image generation model. Unlike previous versions, it reasons through your request before generating — understanding context, maintaining consistency across frames, and producing immediately usable outputs for real work.

MetaHers use case

I used it three ways this week: transformed a car selfie into a studio portrait with one prompt, generated an 8-panel Instagram carousel for Signal 002 by simply describing what I wanted, and used it to visualise brand concepts for MetaHers without touching Canva or briefing a designer.

Who it's for

Every woman building a personal brand who has ever said "I wish I had a photographer" or "I can't afford a designer right now." Your iPhone camera and one clear prompt is enough. The barrier is not technology anymore. It is knowing what you want.

Pricing

Available to all ChatGPT users. Paid users unlock higher quality and resolution outputs. API access available for developers via gpt-image-2.

See it in action

Car selfie transformed into studio portrait using one ChatGPT Images 2.0 prompt

Before: iPhone selfie in my car. After: studio portrait. One prompt.

The ChatGPT prompt used to generate the Signal 002 carousel

The prompt: one sentence, two reference images. That is all it took.

The result: a complete 8-panel editorial carousel. One conversation.

BTC

Bitcoin

$77,809

▼ 0.5% today · ▲ 2.4% this week

Bitcoin opened above $78,000 this morning — its highest level since early February before the Iran war began. Traders remain cautious as peace talks stall despite Trump's ceasefire announcement. The $76,000 support level is the key one to watch.

ETH

Ethereum

$2,328

▼ 3.2% today · ▲ 2.2% this week

ETH pulled back slightly after yesterday's gains. Still up on the week. The $2,400 level is the next resistance to reclaim — analysts say holding above $2,280 is critical to avoid a broader altcoin correction.

Why both are rising despite conflict

The US seized an Iranian cargo ship near the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend — a significant escalation. Traditional markets shuddered. But Bitcoin and Ethereum both climbed. This is the apolitical asset thesis playing out in real time: when no government controls it, no government can freeze it. Institutional buyers are using crypto as a hedge. That shift is structural, not speculative.

04 · Her Strategy

Design your business like the 20% do.

This week two of the world's biggest AI companies launched visual tools within four days of each other. The message is clear: the creative barrier is gone. What separates the women who build from those who watch is no longer access to tools. It is the willingness to direct them with intention.

01

Design your brand before you design your content

Content without a clear visual identity is noise. Use Claude Design or ChatGPT Images 2.0 to establish your brand palette, typography direction, and image style first. Then every piece of content you create has a home.

02

Treat your prompt like a creative brief

The quality of what AI generates is directly proportional to the clarity of your direction. "Make it look professional" produces generic results. "Editorial, dark navy, gold accents, Playfair Display, Vogue meets Forbes" produces something specific. Learn to brief like a creative director.

03

Discernment is a design skill

I let Claude Design reimagine MetaHers Signal this week. It produced something impressive. I did not ship it. Knowing what not to implement is as powerful as knowing what to build. The 20% edit ruthlessly.

04

Consistency is a design decision

The most overlooked design decision in any business is cadence. Consistency trains your audience to expect you — and that expectation becomes trust. Pick your publishing rhythm, protect it like a product decision, and watch it compound. One viral moment fades. Fifty consistent ones build a brand.

Feriel Mathlouthi, founder of Webi.tn and digital entrepreneur based in Tunis

Feriel Mathlouthi

  • Founder, Webi.tn — Digital Agency
  • Founder, COffice · WePost · SidiBoat · Evnt.tn
  • Organiser, Salon de l'Entrepreneuriat Féminin
  • Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs Tunisia — 2023 & 2024

There are women who are technically brilliant. There are women who build empires from ideas. And then, occasionally, you meet someone who is both.

Feriel Mathlouthi is that woman.

I met Feriel at the very beginning of MetaHers — not as a user, not as a client, but as part of the founding team. In those early, uncertain months when the idea was bigger than the infrastructure, Feriel was the person I called when I was stuck.

She still is.

Not because she is always available. Because she is always sharp. When AI cannot resolve the bug, when the logic breaks and the documentation offers nothing, Feriel finds the answer. Every time.

But to call Feriel a web developer would be like calling a conductor a musician. Technically true, entirely insufficient. Over 15 years of digital expertise, she has founded seven active entities in Tunisia — each one solving a different problem, each one built with the same obsessive precision.

When AI cannot resolve it, Feriel can. She was Claude-obsessed before most people had heard of Claude. That tells you everything about who she is — someone who finds the best tools before they become obvious.

What makes Feriel different is not just what she has built. It is how she thinks about building. Her daily stack reads like a MetaHers wishlist: Claude, OpenAI, HubSpot, CRM pipelines, AI-assisted prospecting. She is not experimenting with these tools. She is running client businesses on them.

Her office in Tunis is one of my favourite places. Part digital lab, part museum — impressive, nostalgic, layered with accents that feel deliberate and personal. She is also a mother, raising a young son while building and leading across three cities. There is no pause, no "wait until things slow down." She is the living answer to the question every ambitious woman asks quietly: can I really build something meaningful while holding everything else in my life? Her answer is not theoretical. It is lived.

Her values

  • Precise, not performative
  • Global, not provincial
  • Technical, not intimidating

Feriel built seven businesses with the same thread running through all of them: show up, build with intention, and bring other women with you. The Salon de l'Entrepreneuriat Féminin is proof of that. So are the founders she has coached, the clients she has served, and the community she has gathered around her. One day you look up and realise the room is full — and it is full because you made space for others. That is not luck. That is Feriel.

Event · April 24, 25 & 26, 2026

Salon de l'Entrepreneuriat Féminin

Feriel founded and organises this annual gathering of women entrepreneurs — three days of high-level networking, expertise sharing, and visibility for women who are building. If you are in Tunis this weekend, you must go.
